Evolution
in Action Galapagos Island Tours
By J Gonsalves
Galapagos Island Tours are a fantastic way to see
evolution in action. By taking an expedition of these tiny volcanic
islands that lie just straddling the equator in the Pacific Ocean,
you will be treated some truly incredible sights. Cruise the region
by boat, ship or yacht to enjoy schools of whales, dolphins and sharks
swimming by that migrate here during colder climes. If you take a
panga or kayak ride close to the shores of any of these islands, you
will also come across colonies of playful sea lions and the unusual
looking marine iguanas that rest along the rocky coast. <<more>>

Adventures - Activities in the Galapagos Islands
By J Gonsalves
What makes the Galapagos Islands so special in this day and age is
that there is no place on earth quite like them. Completely unique,
these islands are truly one of a kind and are a great place to see
evolution in action. Charles Darwin visited the Galapagos in 1835
and it was here that he gathered important and key information to
prove his Theory of Natural Selection. <<more>>
Darwin
& The Galapagos Islands
By J Gonsalves
Formed roughly four to five million years ago, the Galapagos Islands
today, is one of the most special places on earth. What makes these
volcanic islands so extraordinary is that when they were created by
the eruption of underwater volcanoes, they were totally devoid of
any plant or animal life. Yet somehow over the millennia, these islands
have now become home to several endemic species of wildlife including
the Galapagos Tortoise, the Flightless Cormorant and the Red-billed
Tropicbird. <<more>>
The
Galapagos Islands
By Donna Baker-Olson
I can't say enough about this trip from beginning
to end. The experience was exceptional. It is simply amazing how close
we were able to get to the birds and reptiles. We walked among them
and they just stared back at us. Taking their pictures did not faze
them at all.
I made a lot of new friends on the Isabela II. The
Isabela II is a small yacht that only holds 40 guests total. There
are 3 naturalists on board that accompanied us everywhere. They give
lectures on the wildlife and explain the necessity for conservation
in the Galapagos Islands.<<more>>
